A Rose Returns

Spring is back and so are the goodies.  The rose bushes are blooming and so are a few other plants.  I have been planing what to plant this year, and need to get ordering.  Soon I will be heading to the nursery to pick out plants.  I am trying to bring in hummingbirds and butterflies, so the plants will be geared to them.  It has been an early Spring and I hope it stays around awhile.

The Backyard Chorus

It was another beautiful day again.  I sat outside and enjoyed the quietness of the moment.  There were the usual birds singing, but that is what I am looking for.  It was music in the backyard.  A concert of ever-changing singers and musicians.  It was an hour of total joy watching birds visit the feeders and bird baths.  It was an hour of talking with Mom and watching her enjoy the backyard she spent years in building.  It is a habitat that brings a chorus of singers that visit for a while and share with those willing to listen.

Sometimes we spend much too much time in front of the TV and computer.  I, for one, aim to spend more time this year outdoors.  It may be in the backyard, or in one of the many parks we have, this year I intend on enjoying them.

Take some time while the weather is nice and enjoy the treasures around you.  I plan on making time to absorb those isles of joy around me.

Backyard Playground

Today was a beautiful day.  Sunshine and temps in the 60’s.  A slight breeze just made it better.  Sitting in the backyard on the patio, all sorts of activities were to be watched.  Birds were everywhere.  Sparrows, Cardinals, Woodpeckers, Doves, Yellow Finches and More.

Bunnies were eating the grass.  I encourage that since I have not been able to mow.  They can nibble all they want.  The squirrels were chasing each other.  One jumped into a bush full of birds.  He made lots of noise jumping on the branches, but was outdone by noise of the scattering birds.

Even one of the neighbors dogs visited for a moment.  He was moving around sniffing everything he could.

I love my little isle of nature.  It is a place to relax, listen, watch and enjoy.
